Folk Traditions - United in Diversity
Číslo projektu:2017-1-CZ01-KA219-035526_2
Popis projektu:na stránke Európskej komisie
Grant:0 €
Sumár projektu:The project focuses on folk traditions - their similarities and differences in three participating countries - the Czech Republic, Spain and Slovakia. As two of the participting countries are neighbouring (the Czech Republic and Slovakia), the results might be surprising for the participating students - they will find out that we have very similar folk traditions but also that some of them are quite different. As the Slovak school focuses on folk traditions (especially music and dancing) and the Czech and Spanish schools are interested in this topic as well, it has been decided that the topic of folk traditions would be the most suitable for the given environment. All of the participating schools deal with stereotypical thinking of their students and teachers and the project is a way of avoiding and changing this kind of thinking. The objectives of the project are on two levels - one of them is to compare the folk traditions of three participating countries and finding out that in spite of the fact that we are different, we also have the same (or very similar) roots - i. e. the folk traditions. The second level of objectives is improving the students' ICT skills (through making, editing and uploading videos etc.). The number of participants will be 56. The activities will be following: Skype conference - all participating students will get to know each other a little; presentations about the folk traditions of the participating students' countries, creating questionnares about the folk traditions of the participating students' countries - they will be used in the videos the students will make; creating QandA videos - there will be three videos focusing on the level of students' knowledge of their own country's folk traditions. The methodology is followning: 1) Questionnare about the folk traditions of a given country - this will be used in the QandA videos 2) Presentation of the folk traditions of a given country - this will be used during the mobilities (in PowerPoint, Prezi etc.) 3) Videos - to document the festivals and the QandAs 4) Facebook page - to share the results as quickly as possible 5) Newspaper articles - to share with the local community The following methods and techniques will be used during the project: group work, dialogue and discussion, comparing, work with newspapers, brainstorming, self-evaluation, analysis and synthesis. The impact will be layered on several levels - the cease (or at least restriction) of stereotypical thinking, realizing that the European countries have a lot in common, improving student-student and student-teacher relationships, improving students' ICT skills, confidence in interpersonal relationships etc. Moreover, the effect on the local community is expected (by giving presentations etc.) as well as on the European teachers' community (by posting an article on eTwinning).
