Sumár projektu:Discovering European Heritage through cultural routes Starting from the European Cultural Heritage Year, the project involves partner schools situated along a cultural route, with an attention to the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. The applicant, "Don Gnocchi" school of San Colombano al Lambro (ITA), is along the Saint Columbanus Way, as College Saint Colomban of Luxeuil-les-Bains (FRA). Scoala Gimnaziala nr. 10 of Suceava (ROU) is connected with the European route of Jewish Heritage, while Gymnazium Ul. 1. maya of Malacky (SVK) is linked with Via Habsburg. CEIP Chano Sànchez of Ingenio, Gran Canaria (ESP) is along The Guanches' route, and Silutes r. Usenu pagrindine mokykla of Usenai (LTU) is connected with the Saint James' of Compostela Lithuanian routes. The connection with a pilgrims or historical route is the pretext, for each of the six partners, to study their territory and its cultural and touristic potentialities, for then discovering the cultural heritage of the partners from Europe. The main aim is to approach cultural heritage through an innovative, transnational and musltidisciplinary project, using also new technologies. Objectives for pupils: - Deeply knowing of their own territory, in its geographical, historical, economic, touristic and cultural aspects - Experimenting an alternative way of learning and acquiring competences, with a multidisciplinary approach - Knowing the coding language through the realization of a multimedia product - Rediscovering the travelling dimension as an opportunity to share experiences, through a sustainable kind of tourism - Living a cultural exchange with peers from other Union Countries, by knowing the values of their cultural heritage Objectives for teachers: - Experimenting a new way of waking new competences in the students - Creating an educational route together with teachers coming from other experiences - Living a cultural exchange with teachers from other European Union's Countries - Updating their own educational competences Number and profile of participants: - All the pupils of the partner schools, from 3 to 14 years old, will take part locally to the project activities - 20 pupils for each partner, from 10 to 14, will take part to the short term mobilities - 2 teachers for each partner will take part to the short term mobilities, accompanying the pupils - 3 teachers for each partner will take part to the joint staff meeting - 2 teachers for each partner will take part to the teacher training activity Activities description: - Transnational meeting of teacher staff: Discovering european heritage, definition of a common approach to the study of each cultural route - Local study of each European cultural route every partner is connected to - Local study of each territory's cultural heritage - Creation of a cultural-touristic itinerary connected to each partner's territory - Transnational meeting of theacher staff: How to create an application for mobile devices - Each partner school creates a mobile device application for tourists on each local cultural itinerary - Short term mobilities in each partner Country. Delegations of pupils and teachers meet in each partners' town to do all together the cultural-touristic itinerary, using the applications - Each delegation reports to their collegues, at home, on the experience of cultural exchanges Methodology: The study and the research on the different European cultural routes and on the cultural potentialities of each territory will be done with a multidisciplinary approach (involving Geography, History, Art, Foreign Languages, ICT, Religion) and with different kinds of activities for each range of school age. The teachers and the pupils will also learn to use new technologies and the coding language. Importance will have in particular the real experience in learning by doing. Results and impact: - Increased local and transnational cooperation and collaboration among teachers of the different school orders - Increased teachers' and pupils' skills in ICT - Increased independence and awareness of the pupils - Improved skills in teachers' processing of multidisciplinar itineraries - Increased awareness of international dimension and intercultural dialogue, in the context of the European year of Cultural Heritage and of intercultural dialogue (2018) Potential long term benefits: - Pupils’ personal development, for present and for future. They will develop: national and European proud of cultural treasure, flexibility and responsibility for personal decisions, management of information, accepting diversity, all of these derived from communication, personal learning management - Each partner school will become a resource center for the local schools, as example of good practices, both due to project subject, and for the European added value of the teaching/learning about cultural heritage. - Better prepared teachers, with a wider perspective towards teaching Total grant required: 192,035.00 EUR
